I have known of Charles at my church for about 10 years. We had interacted 2-3 times although I did not know a great deal about Charles. What little I did know lead me to believe that he was a man of Wisdom, Dedication and Integrity. In January of 2011 I was discussing what I wanted to do when I grew up and he asked me a very interesting question. He asked me why I was so Nomadic. I asked him to explain. He said that it seemed like every time he spoke with me over the years I was into something different. So he rephrased the question and said, why are you so easily distracted? I had no good answer. So he proceeded to ask me what I really wanted and how, when and where I was going to go from here to get it. I didn't have a good answer for him then either. He said he would research and get back with me.

We tend to honor those who have written books or have degrees in our society more than those with experience largely because the ones with the experience are too busy doing and have little time for talking. I did not ask for Charles's credentials because I saw that Charles's life was his own credential. His 10 year old business owner track record spoke volumes to me. So I just waited for him to get back with me.

2-3 weeks later he walked up to me with a napkin that had writing on it. He said that after researching he discovered that although he did not know a great deal about the Voiceover business, which is what I was interested in, he did know a lot about business and had coached several others to start theirs.

He said there were 8 things I would have to do to launch my dreams into reality and those were written on the napkin. Within one week I had 7 of those items accomplished (some of which I received help from Charles) and although it took a while to knock out the 8th item, I did it and am now circulating my market demo CD to Talent Agencies. His advice and coaching gave me a track to run on.
